Privacy Policy
Dominate World (the website at dominateworld.online and its apps) is operated by Dominate Studios (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who it is shared with, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it. If anything is unclear, write to us through the support page.
1. What we collect
| Data | What exactly | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, password (stored only as a salted scrypt hash — never in plain text), nickname, the nation you choose (optional), short-lived verification and reset codes (stored hashed). | To create and protect your account, sign you in and let you reset your password. |
| Gameplay | Your cities, buildings, troops, research, marches, battle and event reports, market offers, alliance membership, friend and block lists, notes, account-sitting settings. | To run the game. |
| Things you write | Messages to other players, alliance forum posts, your city banner text, your profile text, reports you file and support messages. | To deliver them, and to review them when someone reports abuse. |
| Security and technical | IP address, browser and operating system (from the user agent), browser language, the page that referred you and campaign tags on your first visit, sign-in times, failed sign-in attempts and time spent signed in. | To protect accounts (you can see your own sign-in history in Settings, with the IP partly hidden), to detect cheating and multiple accounts, and for overall usage statistics. |
| On your device | Your sign-in token and preferences (sound, selected city, dismissed hints) in your browser’s local storage. | So you stay signed in and the game remembers your settings. |
We do not use advertising, ad identifiers, third-party analytics or tracking cookies, and we do not collect your location (the map shows the world; your city’s place is a cell you choose, not where you are).
2. What other players see
Your nickname, city names and places on the map, points and rank, alliance, the nation and flag you choose, your banner and profile text, and anything you post in your alliance forum or send in a message to them. Your email address is never shown to other players.
3. Who processes data for us
- Render — hosts the game server.
- Supabase — stores accounts and sign-in sessions.
- Brevo — sends our service emails (verification codes and password resets).
- Cloudflare — runs our domain’s DNS and delivers the game’s sound files.
- jsDelivr — delivers the open-source 3D graphics library the game uses; your browser connects to it directly.
They process data only to provide these services. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
4. Emails
We only send service emails: verification codes, password resets and, if you stop playing, two reminders (after 7 and 14 days without signing in) and a notice when your cities are abandoned after 21 days. We do not send marketing email. Signing in stops the reminders.
5. How long we keep it
- Account, gameplay and security data: for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account: your account, sessions, cities, armies, reports, notes, friend lists and security history are deleted. Your cities become neutral land on the map. Messages you sent stay in the recipients’ inboxes and your alliance forum posts stay in the alliance, but your name on them is replaced with “Deleted commander”.
- Reports about abuse and support conversations: up to 12 months after they are closed.
- Our providers may keep encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
6. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time: in the game under Settings → Account → Delete account, or on the web at dominateworld.online/delete-account.
- Change your nickname and password in the game.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for a correction, through the support page.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or Turkey) you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority.
7. Children
Dominate World is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old (or older if the law in your country requires it) to create an account. If you believe a child under that age has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed with a per-account salt. Sign-in tokens can be revoked: changing your password signs out every other device.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
